Golf Instructors:
MATT DENZER
Originally from Central Florida, Matt was introduced to the game of golf at the age of ten by his father. Matt had a very successful junior golf career which included three top five finishes in the Florida State High School Golf Championship.
Matt received a full scholarship to attend Eckerd College in St. Petersburg Florida. While at Eckerd, Matt became the Captain of his college golf team; and then led the "Tritons" to their first ever tournament victory.
After graduating, Matt began teaching math in a local middle school. He enjoyed teaching tremendously but the dream to play professional golf was one in which he wished to pursue full time.
Matt began taking lessons at The David Leadbetter Golf Academy with a certified golf instructor. He was so impressed with the teaching methods he was learning, and his love for teaching he decided to forego his pursuit of playing golf professionally and joined the Leadbetter team in 2003.
Since becoming a certified instructor Matt has had the opportunity to travel to many of the Leadbetter academies. Matt has spent two summers in Vail, Colorado and has also taught in Naples, Florida; Nemacolin, Pennsylvania, Half Moon Bay, Jamaica and Whistler, British Columbia. This past fall, Matt and his wife Bethany chose to move to Palm Beach Gardens, Florida to open our newest academy at PGA National Resort and Spa. Matt currently serves as the Director of Instruction.
JAE SUH
Originally from Seoul, Korea, Jae Suh began playing golf at the age of 9, influenced by his father, who had a true love for the game. After having a successful junior career, Jae attended Binghamton University on full scholarship and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in history and philosophy.
Jae began teaching golf in 1996 with great success, while playing mini-tours in Florida. In 2001 he moved to Korea and started a career with a golf GPS company which exposed him to a distinct understanding about the game in the country. He witnessed the game grow and flourish and knew that he had to teach again.
In 2008, Jae returned to the United States with an eagerness to learn and teach and found residence with PGA National Resort and Spa. Although his tenure with PGA National has been short, he has been applauded for his keen insight of the swing and his ability to communicate effectively with students of all levels. He is currently training in the DLGA in Champion’s Gate, with hopes to further his knowledge of the game.
Jae currently resides in West Palm Beach, Florida eagerly awaiting the arrival of his wife, Amy and son, Benjamin from Korea.
